The 2016 Formula One season has been very intriguing so far and it has had every right to be called the best season of the past few years. The seasons 2014 and 2015 were all about the Silver Arrows. 2016 has been pretty much similar but it has had many moments that made it better.
Every year, usually around the summer break, a lot of speculation over the drivers lineup for the following season build up and this year has been no exception. Some drivers move to new teams while most stay where they are. Out of those some moves, very few of them turn out to be successful. One such example is Lewis Hamilton moving to Mercedes from McLaren. Hamilton won his first world championship at McLaren and since moving to the German Giants, he has won two world titles and is en route to his third.
Some moves do not turn out to be great such as the late great Ayrton Senna’s switch from McLaren to Williams in 1994. The Drivers Line Up is one of the most talked topics in the latter half of the Formula One Season. There has been a lot of rumours regarding veteran driver, Jenson Button’s future. Many say that he might retire, some say that he might stay at Mclaren but I feel that the 2009 World Champion will move to the team he started his F1 career with, Williams.
It is very likely that Stoffel Vandoorne will take Button’s seat at the British Outfit. Vandroone replaced then-injured Alonso for this season’s Bahrain GP and did not disappoint. News regarding ‘Checo’ Perez’s future were also circulating which said that the Mexican would move to either Williams or Renault. I think Williams is the best option for Sergio as their car has good pace and he can surely drive it to a few podium finishes.
I feel that Mercedes’ development driver Pascal Wehrlien should replace Esteban Gutierrez at Haas. Gutierrez has been very disappointing this season while his teammate Romain Grosjean has been scoring some points for the American based team. Kimi Raikonnen has been confirmed at Ferrari which means that there will be no change at the Maranello outfit. Red Bull are most likely to retain their line up for this season as they have surpassed their expectations for this season. Mercedes are going to compete for a 4th consecutive Constructor’s Title with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
